Story
Its origins in military and workwear make this a durable fabric, allowing us to extend its lifespan through upcycling and reimagine its purpose. Moving away from its more formal and classic use, we turn this garment inside out (literally), leaving parts of the original pants visible and reinterpreting it in a contemporary context.
Impact
This fabric is typically made from a blend of polyester and cotton, or 100% cotton, as is the case with the pants we select at Santamarta to ensure the highest quality in our upcycled pieces. Although this fiber is of natural origin, its cultivation and processing require large amounts of water, as well as pesticides that are harmful to both human health and the environment.
